As a little girl I was always working with animals and wanted to make everything I came in contact with my pet, even a skunk. As I grew up I proceeded to follow the steps of others and joined the Corporate World working with computers and still continued to work with dogs on weekends and in the evenings. I would go to various training centers with my dogs or just watched others until I got to the point I just had to do this full time. I did volunteer work at a local shelter and later became the Shelter Coordinator. I worked with professional trainers in handling the cases that needed help before they could be adopted and spent many hours working with the dogs on my own. I started going to more seminars and reading books that were suggested by other professionals. Later on I joined the team at a local Pet Store and began doing training in the retail environment. It was during this time that I became accredited and knew I had found my calling. This was certainly where I belonged. I have always been able to make a connection with dogs and have been able to win over the toughest customer. So here I am today with my own business as a Dog Trainer and I couldn’t be happier. Watching dogs and their owners learn new cues and understand why things are happening the way they are is so rewarding I can’t imagine doing anything else.
If I can help one dog at a time and save them from being put into shelters because of bad behavior then I feel I have done my part in helping them their families and the community to grow and be stronger.
